In-A-Flash started in 1983 when a college entrance exam instructor was looking for a way to better help her students remember the key concepts covered in the SAT and ACT tests.

What she developed were flashcard sets that used the proven learning technique of word-picture association to make recall easier. Soon, friends and relatives began asking to borrow the "funny little cards with the cartoon illustrations." In fact, one of her first students was her younger brother who used the cards to raise his SAT test score by 90 points.
